What to Expect When You Order from VYOR Diamond Lab
Buying an engagement ring or custom piece is a genuinely significant moment, and the process itself should feel considered, not overwhelming. Whether you're ordering from our Wembley showroom or entirely online, here's exactly what to expect.
Step 1: Consultation, In Person or Online
We begin with a personal consultation tailored to your specific situation, in showroom or virtually, from anywhere in Australia.
What we typically cover:
- Your budget and realistic timeline
- Preferred stone, lab-grown diamond or moissanite
- Cut shapes you're drawn to
- Any design inspiration or favourite styles you've already gathered
- Metal preference, white, yellow, rose gold, or platinum
If you're not sure where to start, that's genuinely fine, the team will walk through the options with real visual examples rather than expecting you to arrive with a fixed plan.
Step 2: Stone Selection
Once your direction is clear, stones are sourced to match both size and quality goals.
You'll be shown:
- Real photos and video of each specific stone, not generic stock imagery
- IGI certificates for lab-grown diamonds
- Shape, dimensions, and light performance comparisons across options
- Side-by-side choices at different price points
Whether you land on a brilliant round moissanite or a larger radiant-cut lab-grown diamond, the decision is made with real information, not a guess.
Step 3: CAD Design and Quote
With the stone selected, a CAD render of the ring is built to your exact specifications:
- Band width, height, and profile
- Claw prongs, our standard across every design
- Setting style, hidden halo, three-stone, cathedral, and others
- Engraving, accent stones, or other personal detail
A full 360-degree digital model is provided for review and approval, alongside a clear quote with no surprise fees added later.
Step 4: Crafting by Hand
Once approved and a deposit is placed, the ring goes into production. Every piece is made to order by skilled Australian jewellers, built specifically around your chosen stone rather than pulled from stock settings or generic mounts.
This typically takes 4 to 6 weeks depending on design complexity, with progress updates along the way and direct access if you have questions during production.
Step 5: Final Polish and Delivery
Once complete, your ring is:
- Polished and inspected under magnification
- Securely packaged in a signature presentation box
- Delivered alongside your stone certificate and a care guide
You can choose to collect it in person at our Wembley showroom, or have it shipped fully insured anywhere in Australia.
