At VYOR, every ring is custom made: every stone is curated by our gemologist personally, every design is directed by our designer personally, and every finished piece is the result of one on one consultation rather than catalogue selection.

Our collection covers every major engagement ring shape (round brilliant, oval, princess, cushion, elongated cushion, emerald, pear, radiant, marquise, asscher) and every major setting style (solitaire, halo, hidden halo, trilogy, bezel, half bezel, cathedral, pavé, east west, two tone, split shank). Every signature design is available in lab grown diamond or D VVS1 moissanite, in 18k white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum. Designs outside the existing collection are created bespoke alongside our designer with the same three to five week delivery timeframe.

Curated by Our Gemologist, Designed by Our Designer

Every VYOR consultation is led personally by the founders. Our gemologist, Joseph, holds direct access to over 1.1 million GIA and IGI certified lab grown diamonds, and reviews every shortlisted stone personally before presenting to a client. The VYOR quality floor of D to G colour and VS1 clarity and above for diamonds (and D VVS1 only for moissanite) is among the highest published standards in Australian fine jewellery, and it is held without exception across every shape and setting.

Our designer, Nikolett, directs every signature design and every custom design in the studio. She works with each client on shape selection, setting direction, metal choice, proportions specific to the wearer, and the integration of stone, setting, and band into a unified composition. How to Choose an Engagement Ring, A Complete Guide

Choosing an engagement ring involves five major decisions. Our designer walks every client through these in consultation, in the order that suits their priorities.

Stone shape

Round brilliant is the most timeless and accounts for over 60% of engagement rings globally. Oval is the most contemporary and currently fast growing. Princess delivers a modern geometric look. Cushion bridges vintage and modern. Elongated cushion offers maximum face up size with vintage charm. Emerald and asscher deliver architectural sophistication. Pear and marquise produce dramatic elongated silhouettes. Radiant combines emerald geometry with brilliant cut fire. The shape decision is the foundational design choice.

Setting style

Solitaire produces the cleanest, most timeless silhouette. Halo and hidden halo amplify the centre stone with surrounding pavé. Trilogy adds two side stones for symbolic meaning. Bezel and half bezel produce contemporary, secure framings. Cathedral lifts the stone for visual prominence. Pavé band adds continuous sparkle along the finger. East west rotates an elongated stone horizontally for a modern silhouette. Two tone combines metals for distinctive character. Split shank delivers architectural presence.

Metal

Platinum is the most durable and the most prestigious choice, with a soft patina that develops over time. 18k white gold offers a similar appearance at a lower price point but requires occasional rhodium replating. Yellow gold reads warmest and most classical. Rose gold reads contemporary and romantic. Two tone combinations are available on custom designs.

Stone type

Lab grown diamond is the most popular and the most traditional looking centre stone, chemically and optically identical to natural diamond. D VVS1 moissanite is an excellent alternative offering exceptional brilliance and 9.25 Mohs hardness at a significantly lower price point. Both stones are available across every VYOR design.

Budget and proportions

Centre stone size, total carat weight, metal choice, and setting complexity all affect price. Our designer helps clients work backwards from a comfortable budget to a ring that delivers maximum visual presence and personal meaning within that range, never compromising on the VYOR quality floor.

The VYOR Process

Every VYOR custom engagement ring follows the same four stage process.

Consultation

A private 45 minute session at our Wembley showroom in Perth, or a 30 minute secure video call for clients anywhere in Australia. You meet both founders. Our gemologist walks through stone options and gemological criteria. Our designer discusses shape, setting, metal, and proportions. Together the founders present a curated shortlist of certified stones in your carat and budget range.

Design

Once your stone and setting direction are confirmed, our design team produces a detailed 3D CAD model of your ring. You review and approve every element before crafting begins.

Crafting

Your ring is finished in Perth by our team of senior master jewellers, using 100% recycled gold or platinum. Most custom engagement rings are completed within three to five weeks of design approval.

Delivery

Your finished ring is presented in person at the Wembley showroom, or dispatched anywhere in Australia by fully insured express courier with signature on delivery.
