Moissanite Tennis Bracelets – FAQ

What is a moissanite tennis bracelet?

A moissanite tennis bracelet is a continuous line of moissanite stones set around the entire perimeter of the bracelet, creating an uninterrupted strand of brilliance around the wrist. The bracelet derives its name from professional tennis, where a player's diamond bracelet snapping during a televised match brought widespread attention to the style. At VYOR, every tennis bracelet is custom made with D colour, VVS1 clarity moissanite (the highest commercially available grade) and finished in Perth by our team of senior master jewellers.

Will my moissanite tennis bracelet look fake?

Not at all! Moissanite is a premium gemstone with a high-end look. It’s nearly impossible to tell apart from diamonds unless examined closely by a gemologist.

Is moissanite durable enough for daily wear?

Yes! Moissanite is a 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it highly resistant to scratches and perfect for everyday luxury.

How is moissanite different from diamond in a tennis bracelet?

Moissanite delivers similar visual brilliance to diamond at a significantly lower price point, making it an excellent choice for the substantial total carat weight of a tennis bracelet. A diamond tennis bracelet at 5 carat total weight (in VYOR D to G colour and VS1 clarity) typically costs $8,000 to $14,000. An equivalent D VVS1 moissanite tennis bracelet typically costs $700 to $2,000. Both produce strong sparkle and durability. The choice depends primarily on budget and the wearer's preference between diamond and moissanite materials.

Why is a moissanite tennis bracelet a popular choice?

Three reasons. First, the cost is significantly lower than a diamond equivalent, making the substantial stone count of a tennis bracelet more accessible. Second, moissanite's higher dispersion than diamond produces particularly noticeable rainbow fire under direct light, which catches the eye as the bracelet moves. Third, the 9.25 Mohs hardness of moissanite makes it suitable for everyday wear, including on the wrist where bracelets receive more contact than rings. Many clients choose a moissanite tennis bracelet as their first tennis style piece and graduate to diamond later.

What total carat weight is best for a tennis bracelet?

Tennis bracelets are typically described by total carat weight across all stones. The four most common ranges are: 3 carat total (delicate everyday bracelet with smaller individual stones), 5 carat total (the most popular, balanced size for everyday and occasional wear), 7 carat total (statement piece for occasional or evening wear), and 10 carat or more total (significant statement piece for formal occasions). The right total weight depends on the wearer's wrist size, lifestyle, and design intent.

What grade moissanite does VYOR use in tennis bracelets?

VYOR uses only D colour, VVS1 clarity moissanite in tennis bracelets, with no exceptions. D is the colourless grade and VVS1 is a clarity grade with inclusions virtually invisible even under 10x magnification. This is the highest commercially available moissanite grade and is held as the VYOR quality floor across our entire moissanite range, including engagement rings, earrings, necklaces, and tennis bracelets. Every stone is hand selected for optical performance before being set in the bracelet.

What setting styles are available?

The most popular setting styles for moissanite tennis bracelets are four claw (four small prongs holding each stone, the classical tennis bracelet style), three claw (slightly more open with three prongs per stone), bezel (each stone framed by a small metal rim for modern security), and channel (stones set into a continuous channel along the bracelet, hidden behind the metal edges). Most VYOR tennis bracelets use four claw or bezel settings, with bezel producing a particularly contemporary aesthetic.

How durable is a moissanite tennis bracelet for everyday wear?

Moissanite at 9.25 Mohs hardness is second only to diamond in commercial gemstone hardness and is well suited to everyday wear. The setting type matters more than the stone for bracelet durability: bezel settings offer maximum stone protection, while four claw settings allow more light into each stone but expose the stones slightly more to potential impact. We recommend bezel settings for clients who plan to wear the bracelet continuously through daily activities, and four claw for clients prioritising sparkle and wearing the bracelet for special occasions.

Does VYOR offer custom moissanite tennis bracelets?

Yes. Every VYOR tennis bracelet is custom made, with multiple customisation options including stone shape (round, oval, emerald, cushion, princess), setting style (four claw, three claw, bezel, channel), total carat weight, individual stone size, metal (18k white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum), and length. Our designer creates fully bespoke tennis bracelet designs for clients whose vision is not represented in the signature collection, with the same three to five week production timeframe as our engagement rings.

The tennis bracelet is one of the most enduring statement pieces in fine jewellery, and moissanite delivers the same continuous brilliance at a significantly more accessible price point than diamond. At VYOR, every moissanite tennis bracelet is custom designed in Perth, set with D colour VVS1 clarity moissanite hand selected by our gemologist, and finished in Western Australia by our team of senior master jewellers.

Custom Moissanite Tennis Bracelets at VYOR

Moissanite tennis bracelets offer the most visually generous statement in fine jewellery within an accessible budget. By circling the wrist with a continuous line of brilliance, the tennis bracelet produces a piece that catches light from every angle and pairs with everything from formal evening wear to everyday professional dress. The D VVS1 grade we work with exclusively delivers maximum optical performance and consistent appearance from stone to stone.

Our moissanite tennis bracelet collection covers multiple stone shapes (round, oval, emerald, cushion, princess) and setting styles (four claw, three claw, bezel, channel). Every signature design is available in 18k white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum, in total carat weights from 3 carat to 15 carat or more. Custom designs outside the existing collection are produced in the same three to five week timeframe.

Curated by Our Gemologist, Designed by Our Designer

Every VYOR tennis bracelet is held to the same standards as our engagement rings. Our gemologist, Joseph, hand selects and matches every moissanite stone for the bracelet, ensuring uniform colour, clarity, and cut performance across the entire piece. Stone matching matters more for tennis bracelets than for almost any other category, because variation between stones is visible at a glance when stones sit side by side along the wrist. Every VYOR moissanite tennis bracelet uses precisely matched D VVS1 stones from end to end.

Our designer, Nikolett, directs every tennis bracelet design in the studio. She works with each client on the stone shape, the setting style, the total carat weight, the individual stone size, the metal choice, and the bracelet length to ensure perfect fit on the wrist. How to Choose a Moissanite Tennis Bracelet, A Designer's Guide

Five decisions our designer walks through on every tennis bracelet consultation.

Stone shape

Round is the most classical and produces the cleanest continuous brilliance. Oval produces a softer, more elongated stone appearance along the wrist. Emerald produces a sophisticated, architectural look with clear step facets visible along each stone. Cushion delivers a vintage inflected aesthetic. Princess produces a modern geometric line.

Total carat weight

3 carat total for delicate everyday wear. 5 carat total for the most popular balanced size. 7 carat total for statement occasional wear. 10 carat and above for substantial formal wear pieces. The total carat weight is the primary driver of both visual presence and price.

Setting style

Four claw is the classical tennis bracelet style and allows maximum light into each stone. Three claw is slightly more open with smaller prongs. Bezel provides maximum stone protection and produces a modern contemporary silhouette. Channel hides the prongs entirely behind the metal edges for a sleek streamlined look.

Length

The standard women's tennis bracelet length is 17.5 to 19 cm (7 to 7.5 inches), measured to fit the wrist with a small amount of movement. Petite wrists may prefer 17 cm; larger wrists 19.5 to 20 cm. We measure the wrist precisely during consultation to ensure correct length.

Metal

Platinum is the most durable for daily wear. 18k white gold offers similar appearance at lower cost. Yellow and rose gold produce warm, distinctive looks. Two tone tennis bracelets (combining metals across the design) are also available on custom designs.
